.:caution:. bright lights ahead

i had a fantastic day at work. i know. i'm as surprised as you are. there were a couple of harried moments where i wanted to 'slap someone' but i kept my cool. i'm getting pretty darn good at that nowadays its silly. 

yesterday i started a campaign to get a new name for our team. we had lots of options: the dancing frog legs, honey bucket, bacon robots,and my personal favorite (my nomination, of course)sparkle motion. remember them from donnie darko? one of my favorite movies. anywaysparkle motionwon at first; but, there were some people who weren't as impressed with the name as i was. so after some lamenting with L i think we came up with velvet elvis. i'm satisfied. its quirky enough for my taste, but manly enough for the four guys on our team. L volunteered to bring in her velvet elvis that she has at home. i have been thinking about making mini velvet elvis's for each of our desks. who knows. 

i am also excited because i have a date this weekend. i've been talking to D in msn form for a couple of months it seems. he's ready to meet me! you know me. i was ready to meet him in the second week, but i know that people aren't as good at 'sizing' up people as i am. its hard to gain my trust, but if you do you know you're someone special. but we are going to dinner and then who knows. i have to promise my mom that i will carry my rape whistle and an emergency rain poncho but i really don't think i'll need them. send positive thoughts my way so that the conversation may be easy but i won't. (:
